First the raw image from NASA's JPL:
Here I have focussed in on Prometheus itself and doubled the size of the photograph:
Let's take a closer look at that crater near the top left hand side - there appears to be something in it.
Doing the zoom in thing, we see that this "crater" is situated inside a roughly diamond shaped area, which is quite well delineated. There's definitely something in there. So what is it? What are we seeing here? I'm not sure, but I think it's very odd that something would be sticking up from a crater like this. You can see quite clearly it is casting a lengthy shadow. I think the diamond shaped area is very odd as well. But this is not all that's odd in this photograph.
Moving on, let's take a look at the underside of the object. There would appear to be a tall object projecting from the underside, out of the side of the large crater at the base of the photograph. I have cut this out of the main photograph and doubled its size again, but made no other changes.
Let's take an even closer look:
I have no idea what this is, but given that this is a raw image, it looks incredibly artificial and worthy of further study.
Moving on, let's take a look at the lower left hand side of the object:
There appear to be more objects protruding from this area, and they both seem to have an odd minaret-type shape. There are peculiar signs of structure, and layering of the surface. Let's zoom in a bit more:
I note here that the objects have a definite minaret shape, quite unlike anything we would expect to see. The objects seem to be situated within a well delineated oval-shaped area.
What is going on here, on Saturn's tiny inner ring moon, Prometheus?
Our investigations into Prometheus are ongoing.
